Binding is the first decision, because it sets durability, lay-flat behaviour, unit cost and minimum order quantity. We run all five constructions in our own bindery, so we can recommend the right one instead of the one we happen to own.
Hardcover Notebooks
A casebound hardcover wraps rigid greyboard in your chosen cover material, then attaches the sewn or glued book block with endpapers.

Perfect binding glues the page block directly to a wrap-around cover, producing a clean square spine.

How An Order Runs
From specification to container
A clear process is the difference between a delivery date you can plan around and one you have to chase.
Specification review
Send your specification, tender document or a physical sample. We return a component-level quotation, usually within 24 hours.
Sampling
Pre-production sample in 5-7 working days. Nothing enters bulk production until you have approved a physical unit.
Bulk production
20-30 days on a confirmed schedule, with in-line QC on paper GSM, colour, binding strength and page count.
Inspection & export
Final AQL inspection, export cartons and shipping marks, then full documentation handed to your forwarder or ours.

Sourcing questions, answered directly
Our MOQ is tiered by binding. Hardcover, PU leather and planners start at 500 pcs per design. Sewn bound, perfect bound and spiral/wire-o start at 1,000 pcs. Exercise books start at 2,000 pcs. Saddle stitch (staple bound) books are the single exception at 10,000 pcs per design, because the unit economics of that construction only work at high volume.
Yes. Each design needs to meet its own MOQ, but any number of designs can be combined into one shipment or container. Most distributor customers order 4-8 designs per container.
Standard pre-production samples take 5-7 working days after artwork and specification are confirmed. Samples involving custom cover materials, special foils or bespoke packaging take 10-15 days.
Bulk production runs 20-30 days after you approve the pre-production sample. Very large education orders, multi-SKU programmes and complex packaging can extend this to 35-45 days. We confirm the exact date in writing before you pay the deposit.
Yes. FSC chain-of-custody paper is available across our full range. Because FSC is now effectively required by the EU Deforestation Regulation and by most large North American retail accounts, we recommend specifying it from the start rather than retrofitting later.
Yes, and this is usually the fastest route to an accurate quote. Send the sample and we will reverse-engineer the full specification — board thickness, paper GSM and shade, binding, cover material, finishing — then quote against it.
